بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
وَيۡلٞ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٖ لُّمَزَةٍ١
Woe to every scorner and mocker 1
ٱلَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالٗا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ٢
Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2
يَحۡسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخۡلَدَهُۥ٣
He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3
كَلَّاۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِي ٱلۡحُطَمَةِ٤
No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher. 4
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحُطَمَةُ٥
And what can make you know what is the Crusher? 5
نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُوقَدَةُ٦
It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, 6
ٱلَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلۡأَفۡــِٔدَةِ٧
Which mounts directed at the hearts. 7
إِنَّهَا عَلَيۡهِم مُّؤۡصَدَةٞ٨
Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them 8
فِي عَمَدٖ مُّمَدَّدَةِۭ٩
