بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ١
The Striking Calamity - 1
مَا ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ٢
What is the Striking Calamity? 2
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ٣
And what can make you know what is the Striking Calamity? 3
يَوۡمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلۡفَرَاشِ ٱلۡمَبۡثُوثِ٤
It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed, 4
وَتَكُونُ ٱلۡجِبَالُ كَٱلۡعِهۡنِ ٱلۡمَنفُوشِ٥
And the mountains will be like wool, fluffed up. 5
فَأَمَّا مَن ثَقُلَتۡ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ٦
Then as for one whose scales are heavy [with good deeds], 6
فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٖ رَّاضِيَةٖ٧
He will be in a pleasant life. 7
وَأَمَّا مَنۡ خَفَّتۡ مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ٨
But as for one whose scales are light, 8
فَأُمُّهُۥ هَاوِيَةٞ٩
His refuge will be an abyss. 9
وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا هِيَهۡ١٠
And what can make you know what that is? 10
نَارٌ حَامِيَةُۢ١١
It is a Fire, intensely hot. 11
